This is the image for the news article titled BCS Pre-Kindergarten ScreeningThe Bellefontaine City School District has announced the district’s Pre-Kindergarten Screening Program will be held at the First Lutheran Church, located at 208 West Sandusky Avenue, from April 18 through April 21, 2017.

Children who will be five years old on or before August 1, 2017 are eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2017-2018 school year. Parents are encouraged to register an eligible child by calling Bellefontaine Elementary at 599-4331 before March 17, 2017. Registration forms are being sent home with elementary school children and with children attending local pre-school programs. Additional forms are available at each school.

Parents are asked to bring the following items to kindergarten screening:

•Child Shot record (by health dept. or by doctor)
•Child’s birth certificate Recent picture of the child
•Custody papers - if applicable
•Proof of residency (for Open Enrollment)*

*A copy of a gas bill, electric bill, rental agreement showing the parent name and address are some of the items acceptable for proof of residency.

Attending the Pre-Kindergarten Screening Program is an important first step in a child’s journey through school. Important information about the child is shared among parents and school staff. Screening of each child’s communication skills, hearing, vision, and academics provide information for planning the best educational experience for your child.

If a parent or child requires handicapped access to the Lutheran Church on the day of screening, please make your need known when you register your child for screening.
