Welcome to Bellefontaine Elementary School, where we are proud to be the
 “Home of the Little Chieftains!” Our beautiful building is located at 1001 Ludlow Road in Bellefontaine.
 We value the community that we serve and strive to offer the very best education to the future leaders of our area.

We provide an enriching and fun learning environment for children in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade. We work every day to offer the youngest Chieftains in our district the best start possible, with caring, top notch teachers and staff. We hope you will find BES to be a positive and wonderful place to be!

BCS Pre-Kindergarten Screening
The Bellefontaine City School District has announced the district's PreĀ­ Kindergarten Screening Program will be held at the First Lutheran Church, located at 208 West Sandusky Avenue, from April 9 through April 12, 2018. Children who will be five years old on or before August 1, 2018 are eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2018-2019 school year. Parents are encouraged to register an eligible child by calling Bellefontaine Elementary at 599-4331 before March 23, 2018. Registration notices are being sent home with elementary school children and with children attending local pre-school programs. Additional notices are available at each school.

Third Grade Guarantee
In kindergarten through grade three, Bellefontaine City Schools will evaluate all children to determine if they are reading as well as they should be. If a child appears to be falling behind in reading, we will immediately start a reading improvement plan that will address the student's unique reading problems.
